Winter School for Young Psychiatrists was organized from 6-9 December 2004, at Mecavnik (ethno-village of Emir Kusturica), by the Institute of Mental Health, Belgrade, and the Center for International Cooperation of Belgrade University School of Medicine, with the support of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Science and Environment Protection of Republic of Serbia. This was the first such school in Serbia and the region, with the structure that followed the Berlin Summer School for young psychiatrists. The coordinators of the school were Prof. Norman Sartorius, Prof. Dusica Lecic Tosevski, Prof. Ivana Timotijevic and Natasa Caran, MD, whereas the moderators were Assist. Nadja Maric-Bojovic, Assist. Milica Pejovic-Milovancevic, Assist. Milan Latas and Tamara Cavic, MD. Objective of the School was to help young psychiatrists in acquiring the skills important for professional and scientific work, rarely addressed by the undergraduate and postgraduate studies of medicine. Through the lectures and poster-presentations, participants were introduced to the skills of oral and written presenting of scientific papers, preparing presentations and lectures, reading the professional literature, etc.
 
 
ZONAL SCHOOL FOR YOUNG PSYCHIATRISTS, BELGRADE, 2008
Zonal School for Young Psychiatrists, organized in Belgrade in October 2008

Zonal School for Young Psychiatrists was organized in the period of October 21-22, 2008, during the WPA Co-sponsored XIII Congress of Serbian Psychiatric Association in Belgrade. The school included participants from Central Europe and Serbia and represented the part of the Institutional Program for Young Psychiatrists of the World Psychiatric Association (WPA). The chairs of the School were Prof. Juan Enrique Mezzich, Prof. Dusica Lecic-Tosevski and Prof. Miroslava Jasovic-Gasic. The lecturers were Assist. Nadja Maric-Bojovic, Assist. Milica Pejovic Milovancevic and Assist. Milan Latas. As a continuation of the Winter School for Young Psychiatrists held in 2004, Zonal School had an objective to use interactive teaching for introducing the young colleagues to the skills significant for scientific work and professional development, such as writing a CV, using the scientific literature, presenting and writing scientific papers, as well as the elements of scientific project organization. The evaluation of the program showed that the participants were highly satisfied with the content and the form of education.
