International organizations and schools for young psychiatrists

Organizations

Early Career Psychiatrists Council of World Psychiatric Association (WPA) is aimed to enable the communication between young psychiatrists and leading bodies of WPA, to identify and work on the issues important for young psychiatrists through research and publications, as well as to promote the professional development and to engage in sectorial activities of WPA. The Council communicates at the meetings during the world congresses of psychiatry, through teleconferences and correspondence. The Council representatives from each country are nominated by the national psychiatric associations, and Serbia has been engaged since 2009, with two representatives.

European Federation of Psychiatric Trainees (EFPT) analyses the issues related to the psychiatric training programs in different European countries at the annual Forums, through the working groups and research activities, and forms the general statements by voting of member-countries. EFPT closely cooperates with the bodies significant for education in psychiatry, such as European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), European Psychiatric Association (EPA) and others. The Serbian Young Psychiatrists Section of the Serbian Psychiatric Association has been engaged in activities of EFPT as observer since 2009, and it has become a full member at the annual Forum in Dubrovnik, 2010. Cooperation with EFPT has opened the opportunity for enrollment in international exchange program for psychiatric trainees. More details here
